How to reach Anogeia
You can either reach Anogeia by car via Heraklion (36 km) or via Rethymnon (52 km). The route from Heraklion is very scenic, passing through beautiful landscapes and villages. However, the road snakes its course in the mountains and has many turns, therefore caution is needed, especially in winter months, with rain and snow. Setting off from Heraklion, you take the national road that connects Heraklion with Chania and then the exit to the old national road towards Gazi and Anogeia. From then and on, follow the road signs.
From Rethymnon, take the national road towards Heraklion until the intersection at Panormo, where you take the road that goes inland. This route passes through the Mylopotamos area and various villages, before it ends up at Anogeia.
